Designing GUIs for ItemsAdder
ItemsAdder takes glyphs and textures like the others, with one difference worth knowing before you design: it carries less of the text styling, and the editor tells you which parts.
The export
Output → For plugins → ItemsAdder gives you the glyph configuration, the textures and the folder as a ZIP. The glyph ids come from your module and element names, so a readable design gives a readable config.
What does not carry over
Two things, plainly:
- moved or resized text - a run that the editor shifts vertically arrives unshifted
- bold and italic runs
- colours are set by the menu plugin rather than the glyph config, and the shadow lives in the glyph config
What that means for a design
It does not mean the design is impossible - it means the parts that rely on shifted or styled text belong in an image instead. The editor shows the difference while you work, so you notice it at the design stage and not after the upload.
If you want the full range, the plain resource pack export keeps everything, and so do the other three plugin targets.
Design it, check the ItemsAdder tab, and move what it cannot carry into the image.
